When the e-commerce plugin is enabled, the included javascript files conflict with wordpress so none of the dragdrop works. I'm trying to add the shopping cart to the sidebar, but can't drag it over (the new way of adding a widget). When the plugin is disabled, the draggin/dropping works perfectly, but of course I can no longer add the cart to the sidebar. It's definitely only wp-e-commerce as disabling it makes everything work

i am having this exact same problem. none of the drag and drop in the widgets work, and the left menu won't drop down when in the dashboard (neither does the actual content on the dashboard page). it also causes an error with the incoming links section on the dashboard..
anyone know how to fix this?

Looks like many people are having these problems. Haven't found a solution on the forums yet though or a response of any of the developers for that matter.

Ok, guys! I fell into the same pitfall: e-commerce brakes drag&drop functionality on the widgets screen. You disable e-commerce, so it works again. But your shopping cart widget is gone and there's no way to get it back! Your customer stop buying, you lose millions...
Don't worry. Here's a quick work-around, guys!
Comment out line 2697 in file wp-shopping-cart.php. That is, put two leading slashes (//) before the line that starts with:
wp_enqueue_script('jQuery-ui' ...Now widgets are draggable again. Get the shopping cart back in and do whatever you want with widgets. Then undo the hack and everything is fine.

Hmm, won't that mean that the widgets will become un-draggable again once you undo the hack? That isn't really a solution for me. I want my drag and drop to be accessible at all times (especially since it's affecting the dashboard, not just the widgets!).

Yes, indeed, mon_c. That's correct. It's not a solution. It's a quick work-around. Call it a dirty hack. Let's see if the official WP e-Commerce developers come up with a solution soon.
If drag-and-drop is important to you, you can also try to leave the hack in. (Leave the line I mentioned commented out). I have not done much testing, but it does not seem to matter. If you decide to do so, please share your experience.

I don't know if this is a 2.8 issue but I'm unable to check the variations wont hold in the items. And on the "Settings" page the tabs aren't working (I have to click the link to a new tab in order to see each tab). They seemed to be working fine prior to my upgrading to 2.8.... I probably should have waited... Friggen eager beaver...

@jazzigor
Any quick work arounds to get the settings tabs in the dashboard working again?
Posted 1 year ago # -
widgets easier workaround -> screen options, enable accessibility
settings tabs -> http://www.instinct.co.nz/forums/topic.php?id=5125#post-20596

Thanks @jazzigor . That temporarily helped my issue. Hopefully, we'll see something official from Instinct that will fix the problem permanently.

I'm not sure if this problem is related, but I was about to change some settings of my wp-e-commerce (3.6.12) under wordpress 2.8 and I only can access the first tab. When I click on any of the others, nothing happens... 8^///
If anyone has a solution for this, it would be great... Thx... 8^)

had same issue, have another quick work around and it works for me.
change your admin.js with this, it works for me but only thing it wont remember which tab you were on after updating (which is fine for me)
Posted 1 year ago # -
In fact I don't know if it was because of your admin.js, but when I clicked on the tab I needed, still nothing happened. And when I pressed F5 (refresh), the tab loaded fine. So, even if this a provisory solution, it works... Just refresh after clicking the tab.... 8^)
Thx for the help.Posted 1 year ago # -
We are using the wp-commerce plugin with vanilla cart theme. After the upgrade to WP 2.8, we could no longer click on the media icons when POSTING and desiring to upload a media file (pictures, clips, etc). We narrowed the problem to wp-commerce by deactivating it...which then allowed us to use these icons again. We have not installed the beta of wp-commerce, so we're using 3.6.12. ANy thoughts or help would be appreciated....

Using 3.6.12 and non of the tabs work in "setting". Idea when this will be fixed?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Upgraded to WP 2.8 and the "tabs" in Products-Settings" are messed up.
The first three tabs are all shown on the first "General" page. The other/last three tabs lost CSS - Content showing, but on a plain white background.
Seems like a prio 1 fix to me...

If you comment out the line in wp-shopping-cart.php (as per the above suggestion) to enable drag-n-drop widgets, then this causes the problem with the tabs missing the CSS as Robert describes. Of course, as many have noted elsewhere, the tabs appear to cause a Javascript conflict so the two issues appear linked somehow.

The only remedy for this is to go to 3.7 Beta 2. Although that also brings along a flood of other issues... but it solves this one. There seem to be no fix from Instinct on this on 3.6.X. Seems all work is on 3.7 (My reflection)
Posted 1 year ago # -
OK..firstly, DO NOT install the 3.7 beta.
There is so much wrong with it - I wouldn't know where to start.Posted 1 year ago # -
I installed WP2.8 and the drag and drop in the widgets stopped working.
I deactivated the plugin WP-ecommerce and the d'n'd worked again. Conflict with the AJAX right?
I activated the WP-ecommerce and all my products are gone. No more store. The database is fine I can see all the products in the Products tab. They just don't show on the page anymore.
Ive hacked and slashed the source of WP-EComm so much I didnt want to upgrade just yet.
I made a test terver with WP2.8 and WP-Ecomm 3.7. Bad move. Bad, Bad move. There are so many problems here.If you want to use the widgets without deactivating the WPEcommerce plugin go to SCREEN OPTIONS in the admin (top right!) and ENABLE ACCESSIBILITY and it turns off the drag n drop function.
Now I gotta lotta work to do to get my products listed.
Bloody thing.Posted 1 year ago # -
Rezolution: I 100% agree. People be vary wary of upgrading as per the advice most people seem to be giving as the fix for the js drag and drop widgets conflicts.
*rant*
You will EFF yourself. I know, I effed myself in a huge way:foolishly upgraded to wp.28.1 beta and wp ecommerce beta 3.7.2 to fix a stupid JS conflict!!!! On a production site! A client site! Ok Ok so Variations do not work. What a pain. Hey you can just upload a new product for each size and color! Joke, bad joke.If you were like me, a total trusting sheeple and you upgraded to 2.8.1 and wp-ecom 2.7.2 you won't be able to use the shop at all. All your product images are bye bye. Why? Because upgrading changes tons of stuff.
One small instance:
in wp table wp_product_list the upgrade doesnt just change the name of the table to wpsc-product-list, it changes the image, thumbnail and thumbnail state tables from varchar to bigint, from latin swedish1 to utf 8 and your product images are listed as the product id numbers, not jpeg files. Just a little mysql trivia for you. That is why if you upgrade and are unlucky and the shop stops working(no paypal no sales) and then try to downgrade, oh wait you are EFFED! Because the database tables are different now. Hello PHP errors. Each and every PHP error people are getting is caused by the fact that the plugin files can't add things to the tables because they can't find the tables because they were all re named. I wish I could give a step by step of how I fixed this... lets just say I am shaken and weary from the 24 hour ordeal. There were tears.
If I had not made a back up of the database the EFFED Ed NESS would be 100%. Its just 25% right now.
End of rant?!
Turn on ENABLE ACCESSIBILITY in Screen Options Like Rezolution Said. He is the man as far as I am concerned.

I am using WordPress 2.8 and WP-E-Commerce Version 3.6.12 and the Settings tabs are still not working for me. I have trawled the web looking for a solution but cannot find it. Has anyone solved this problem. Please advise. Banging head against wall here!

WP-E-Commerce 3.7 is the only version that works properly with Wordpress 2.8 and above, and it has been released, it has just not yet been announced on this site.
