Does anyone know a shipping solution to have different flat rate shipping for each Australian state, selectable at check-out page.

I haven't actually tried it, but I think adding Australian states would be as simple as modifying the database:

    - Find the Australian record in the wp_wpsc_currency_list table, and change has_regions from a 0 to a 1.
    - For each state, add a row to the wp_wpsc_region_tax table (with the country_id matching the id from the above record).

This is how things work for US and Canadian states/regions.

    James,
I'm not sure but it seems xbawax refer to different shipping rates, not taxes.
Unfortunately I have same problem here in Europe where every country you need to ship to will have its own shipping rate.
Please check this: I'm in Italy, if I need to ship a box to Portugal shipping rate is 18 EUR, to ship same box to England shipping rate is 25 EUR and to Finland is 31 EUR. (but flat rate general settings generically will offer only 'europe' option)
To solve this we should able to modify something by adding more countries to geographic zones in 'flat rate' general settings.
Do you think to play around currency and region tax tables will affect also shipping flat rate settings?

I've put together a flat rate shipping calculator for WP E-Commerce for Australians and instructions can be easily modified to support any country with custom regions, support me if this helps you :)

Hi Visser, thanks for sharing your hack.
My major difficulty is how to apply your method to each european country.
I mean, let say I\'m in Italy and I want to set international shipping flaterate for other european countries like Germany or England or Spain and so on.
I don\'t know exactly what table is related to flatrate shipping option.
By scrolling db tables I see in currency table all european countries have a unique code as EUR so I don\'t know the correct way to customize it.
Any help on how to proceed is much appreciated.

As far as I understand forget about the currency tables in the database, but this may only apply for States within a Country. Europe is a collection of Countries so will require additional hacks.

    Thanks Visser,
do you know what db tables I need to modify to change a european country, let say Germany, from 'EUR' to 'GER' in order to set the proper international flatrate shipping cost from here (Italy) to Germany?
Unfortunately United Europe is just a conventional politic asset but in real life each country will remain well distincted one to another.
I mean, where you need to ship a product inside Europe it will be considered like an international shipping, not internal like U.S.A or Australia.
