I recently upgraded to the latest ‘official’ WPEC version (3.8.4 I believe).
Out of the box, there was an issue where paypal + IPN wasn’t working well. Most orders did not result in the item going to ‘payment accepted’ in WPEC.
I found a solution for that (the ID’s being sent back from paypal were blowing out the variable type).
But now I’m finding that only 1 out of 3 orders results in a ‘purchase notification’ email coming to me, and only maybe 1 out of 4 results in a receipt email going to the customer.
Out of my last 5 orders, all five correctly went to ‘payment accepted’, but only two resulted in an email to me, and only two resulted in emails going to customers.
This is a really big deal and I need a solution fast! Does anybody know what’s going on with this?

IPN from PayPal Standard failed under certain circumstances in 3.8.4. There’s a fix for that in 3.8.5. That certainly could have caused the issues mentioned in this thread.

Is there any way to get individual patches with the changes from 3.8.5?
I fixed most of the issues I was having with 3.8.4 by hand, but I’m still having receipt issues.
Even though the IPN comes back, there is still on occasional instance where the receipt never gets sent.
This is running on a privately hosted server that is lightning quick, so I don’t think overload is the issue.
Anybody have any good ideas?

Same problem here
I am using getshopped 3.8.6 and do not receive any receipt e-mails. My WordPress appears to be properly configured with SMTP settings. Testing with the plugin “Check Email” I am receiving those e-mails via SMTP. Does getshopped use some other settings than those specified on /wp-includes/*phpmailer.php files?
