I’ve been working on setting up my wife’s business shopping cart and it’s been going well so far (I have a few issues, but I’ll work them through before we Go Live). My question at the moment relates to the product pricing.
My wife sells nursing pillows. Typically you buy a pillow ($29.99) and one of 40 different covers (each @ $14.99) and I’ve set them up as 41 different items (the pillow and covers seperately). We virtually never sell JUST the pillow alone without a cover, but we do sell additional covers all the time.
My wife is worried that a customer coming into the site is going to think that they can buy a SET for $29.99, not $44.98, and so what she’d LIKE to do is something like this… Have the FIRST product purchased be a SET at $44.98 and then have the rest be covers (or sets for that matter, I guess). Basically she wants to FORCE the customer to buy at least one set.
I really don’t want to have to duplicate the 40 covers and have one as a set and one as an additional cover so I’m trying to figure out if there’s any way to accomplish what we want in another way (variations, discounts, etc).
Does anyone have any ideas they can share?
Thanks in advance!
