The WPEC Simple Shipping Plugin enables free input for fixed rate shipping options, for instance:

  • pickup – $0
  • regular – $5
  • overnght – $10
  • etc..
This is a nice little community made Plugin that may or may not shortly find its way into the WP e-Commerce Plugin core codebase.

I can’t seem to get this to work as advertised.

When I used it, it works as expected from the WP backend, but customers can’t choose an option on the checkout page.

The same thing happens to me. It shows rates from the other options, even though cache is cleared (not sure if necessary, but for good measure).

The plugin works, but when I put in $0 for pickup, it lists it as $15. Also have the FedEx plugin installed – help?

hello. i have a problem. i’m using fixed rate ($0 for normal postage and $3.50 for registered mail). when i checkout i can see the option (radio buttons) of normal and registered mail with their respective prices, but when select registered mail, if it is not added into the total shipping price. total shipping remains $0.

    can you please help me?

    thank you very much!

I have 4 fixed rate options. When you go to the checkout you default to the first option. If you choose a different option the total cost updates correctly. However, if I change the state in the “billing/contact details” section of the form, the shipping resets to the default (first) fixed rate even though the radio button is still on the new rate that was chosen.

Is this a bug, or perhaps a misconfiguration on my part?

Just in case it is a contributing factor, my cart applies tax if a certain state is chosen, but the issue described above occurs regardless of what particular change is made in the state select.

I have installed the plugin and added 4 options. Everything seemed to work just fine, until I had an order and I realized that there is no notification in the order about which alternative was chosen. Am I just really stupid or what?

Great plugin, but it would be good if I can assign a range of fixed rates for each product instead of for the entire store.

    Cheers.

This adds £5 to everything I set . I try to set % for uk , 10 for abroad- it charges £10 and £15 – bit odd?

Hi, I have created 3 fixed rate shipping options. However, no matter which option i choose, ie, option 2 or 3, my shipping price does not change, but remain in option 1. Any idea?

This plugin is only working for products that do not have variations. For every product that does have variations, it does not show up in the checkout. Please help!

    • Nina February 24, 2012 at 9:26 am

Finally figured it out, if anyone else is having the same problem, let me know and I may be able to help.

      • Elmari February 25, 2012 at 10:57 pm

Hi Nina, how did you fix it? All my products have variations and I can’t get the shipping options to show at checkout, so maybe my problem is the same as yours…

      • Mychelle February 28, 2012 at 10:49 am

        Hi Nina

Is it possible you could share your fix with everyone? I can ensure that the plugin gets updated so no one else has this problem.

        Thanks
        Michelle

same thing for me – I have added four options and it registers two of them – and if the product has a variation it registers none of them…

  14. Corrine April 8, 2012 at 10:07 am

Installed the plugin with 3 options and disabled all other shipping options. During checkout, it does not display the options. Instead it says “Please provide zipcode and click Calculate”, only there is no zipcode field or calculate button. None of the shipping calculaters are toggled under my store settings…any idea how to fix all of this?

How do you fix the problem where the total cost doesn’t change no matter which shipping option you chose? I am probably losing customers because of this plugin, unfortunately…

  16. JonathanBlanco May 11, 2012 at 5:58 am

I am having the same problem that others referred to. I have 4 options set in the Fixed Rate, all 4 display on the checkout page. If you chose an option that is different from the default, the price is correctly recalculated. But after the transaction is processed, only the default shipping is applied, regardless of which of the 4 options are chosen. We’re going to lose a lot of money on this if people chose Next Day shipping, but the system only charges them for regular.

    Please help!

I disabled the plugin. No support and it seemed to really destabilize the checkout page.
