Wp E-Commerce 3.7.6 rc 1 Is Out

Hello Fellow Wp e-Commerce Lovers

The New, the long awaited 3.7.6rc1 is OUT and yes we have taken our sweet sweet time getting this to you, we’ve had some interesting few weeks, the community is growing and getting more proactive I’m sure it’s only a matter of time till we rule the world.
Enough with the ramble heres what’s in store (pun intended)

  • UPS – very very big face lift, UPS now requires an API Key / user account there is a link on the shipping page to obtain one, this was done ahead of schedule, from what we’ve heard the old system was being phased out, so there was nothing we could do about it except give you better options.
Shipping in general has had a few changes nothing noticeable unless you digg through the code
  • New filters for coupons – Done by Ben, thanks Ben! If you guys don’t know what this is about, this means you can now extend your coupons to do all sorts of stuff without hacking through wp-e-commerce ;)
  • CSS validation fixes – Small and minor
  • Purchase Reports – We’ve added in the download link for download-able products into the purchase report (so store owners have a copy too)
  • Also very cool in this release is Ben’s new implementation of pagination, apparently (I haven’t personally had a chance to play with it but it is supposed to be very easy to manipulate)
  • Thumbnail caching – Had a few people complain about the slowness of grid view images, I believe Tom has come up with a good fix for this. It now doesn’t go overboard with redirects YAY
  • Also I don’t know if you guys have seen the new checkout settings page but I still think thats worth a mention, We are still working on adding checkout form set deletion etc, but the core functionality of it is there, you can now drag-drop order your checkout form fields, and correct your unique names issues Yeehar!

We’ve done a lot of changes to gateways, too many to mention but the two that do stick in my mind :

  • Google Checkout – there was an issue where Google Checkout would send the first of any shipping quotes , now Google Checkout sends the correct selected quote.
  • Paypal Express – Had the weirdest issue where version number was invalid? Were you using Thematic? There was a conflict, we resolved that too!

Soo good luck remember to backup (DB and Files) before installing, let us know if you have any problems.

Download 3.7.6 RC 1 Now!

Great work guys. Regarding the new filters for coupons and pagination I’ll publish some quick tutorial soon…

    Found a bug.

If you click on create coupon and then hit Add coupon without entering any info, it creates a coupon that you cannot edit or delete.

Why is the new version not automatically being picked up by wordpress plugin upgrades? Is it not a real release?

  6. Dan Milward March 12, 2010 at 6:15 pm

Its not being picked up because it is a Beta version. When you manage a Plugin through wordpress.org you can tag versions in the SVN as being live or as being hidden (so to speak). At the moment the beta versions are all hidden and only the stable versions of the Plugin are available for download.

We’ve not had many bugs reported so I think we’ll probably be able to go live next Monday NZT.

i’ve updated to this new plugin for my site. In the admin area, a message came up about copying and pasting new themes in the wp-content/uploads/wpsc/themes folder..I did this and on my store page this is the message i get..

Warning: include(/home/loomz/public_html/wp-content/uploads/wpsc/themes/default/products_page.php) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/loomz/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-e-commerce/wpsc-includes/theme.functions.php on line 596

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening ‘/home/loomz/public_html/wp-content/uploads/wpsc/themes/default/products_page.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/loomz/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wp-e-commerce/wpsc-includes/theme.functions.php on line 596

The reason I updated to this plugin is because I had pagination problems with my products page.

    Any help will be appreciated

First off… loving all the new details. GREAT WORK GUYS!!!

I am having an issue to report (but I am not entirely positive that it is isolated to this beta release). When I am editing/adding a product and get to ‘Categories & Tags’, there are NO CATEGORIES to choose from. The word categories (in italics) appears in the right spot but none of my categories (5 set up) are displaying. Because of this, I can not add an image to the product.

What did I do? I did use the ‘IMPORT’ feature to import all of my products (one category of products at a time) and I have disabled any and all plugins that have anything to do with the cart. I also have the Gold Cart upgrade.

    Ideas??

  9. Chester March 18, 2010 at 8:37 am

Using WP 2.92, the RC1 release, and Gold Cart. Shipping is set to flat rate, with $0 amount for items shipped to all 50 states. Flat rate price for each item was entered in its product details. The free shipping selection in the new coupons system is doubling the shipping cost of each item in the cart to calculate the discount.

Two issues. Product ratings run over the next product heading. Clicking on “Add to Cart” results in a busy pop up that doesn’t quit and nothing is loaded into the cart. This was my original problem (among a major code conflict apparently) that I hoped this beta would fix. The code conflict I put on the forum doesn’t appear any more. I can live without ratings, though it would be better with. I need to better understand the busy pop up issue. I had understood that a CSS change would do but the instructions were a bit vague as to precise placement.

Testing out placing orders, seems the purchase receipt and admin order emails aren’t getting through. Checked server error logs and spam folder but nothing to show in either. Clicked option under sales to resend receipt, still nothing.

I noted too that on the Checkout, only the default field set would display. If you created a new field set and added fields to it, it doesn’t show up on the checkout page.

Otherwise, looking good so far, just a few issues to resolve.

I’m getting the same error as Jack on version 3.7.6 (final)

I’m using Godaddy.com as my Host and I’ve not been able to find ANY information on their site about ISAPI. PHP is version 5…I’m not sure what to check to try to resolve this…

I know I’m rehashing an old question here, but any ideas?

    Thank you!

Sorry, ignore my last comment. I just saw the information about “class” in the other post.

  14. Melster August 2, 2010 at 3:53 pm

For some reason I can use goggle checkout when I am trying to see if my site is set up correctly for purchasing but unfortunately goggle checkout is not working for anyone else. I have it set up so I don’t know why its not working properly. Please advise. I have been trying to launch my site and this has been a nightmare with the shipping and now goggle checkout is not working.
Customers can fill out all their information and when its time to checkout they physically can’t. It just doesn’t go any further or bring up the window in goggle checkout where they actually can pay.
