Members-Only Module

The Members Only Module allows you to create pay to view subscription sites – this is done by allowing you to protect single blog posts and pages. It’s perfect for private Podcast sites, Image galleries, Movie Galleries, and Forums. Just use your imagination…but get it out of the gutter you perv!

  1. Unzip the members folder and place it in the gold_cart_files folder
  2. Activate by entering your members only API key in the Store Options page
  3. For this module to work, you must configure some WordPress settings. Users must be logged in to your site to purchase a membership or subscription, otherwise we cannot associate their subscription with a WordPress user account.
  4. To do this, click on the Settings > General link in the left sidebar, and check the “anyone can register” checkbox next to the “Membership” option
  5. On the Store > Settings > Checkout page, turn on the ” Users must register before checking out” option

Now it’s time to create an actual members only page/post and a members only product!

  1. Add or edit a WordPress page/post and check the “Members Only” checkbox
  2. Go to your Products section and create or edit a product
  3. Call it (for example) “One Month’
  4. Open the Membership Control options and check the “Is this product a membership” checkbox
  5. Select a period of “One Month”
  6. Save your product
  7. You are now not only an entrepreneur, but you are an elitist :)

To test your product, you should logout and browse to your store. Find the “One Month” product and purchase it. When you reach the checkout page, you will be prompted to login. Once you have logged in and successfully purchased the “One Month” product, you will be able to access the protected page/post for a period of one month.

Note: If you plan on using authorize.net and the members only module, make sure that sign up for authorize.net Abr. The authorize.net Payment Gateway utilizes the Abr “authorize.net” recurring billing option. It is not a WP e-Commerce option, WP e-Commerce uses Abr by default.
