Freebie: BuySell Theme

I’d like to introduce to you the new BuySell Theme. We commissioned this theme as a means to demonstrate just how customizable the WP e-Commerce Plugin really is. It was developed by the friendly theming folks over at the Tokokoo studios who specialize in e-Commerce themes.
The WP BuySell Theme is an exceptionally beautiful theme based off the www.buysellads.com website design. Why did we do this? Because its full of beautiful design concepts that specifically relate to driving sales.
If you want to use this theme on a live site we recommend you change the colors to suit the needs of your own brand and style, however in terms of layout then this Theme is deliciously hot and has been tested with all our Premium Plugins.
Future versions will include pagination styling, different graphic for the sale price, and a slightly different checkout page. I’m being such a tease, I really enjoy this theme and hope you do too, the future enhancements are just a few things that I’d like to see added in phase two and that will make your.
While I have your attention, also stay tuned for our Mobile Plugin coming very soon, the perfect companion for users that like to use the Piggy Plugin made by Brave New Code.
Update: Download BuySell Theme
No link to the theme?
Great! How can I get the BuySell Theme?
Great! Where can I see a demo and download it?
None of the links in this post lead to the theme. Where can the theme be seen and downloaded?
love to check this out. Got a download link?
Woah! I can’t believe I didn’t link to the files!!! Lucky I’m only human huh (dig to the person that left the grumpy comment that got eaten by akismet – ha!).

Oh yeah, and although I love the photo there are more screenshots to come. I’m travelling at the moment which is why the images are slim pickings and last night “jet lagged dan” forgot to add the link.
Nice work guys. I got it running (thanks for the sneak peak Dan) and I absolutely love it. You mentioned making a suite of Genesis Child Themes for WP e-Commerce Plugin, that would be amazing, I really hope you follow through with it
This is a breath of fresh air in terms of WordPress E-Commerce Themes. All the others I’ve seen are are very much web 1.0 and I do mean ALL the other Plugins.
Huaaa … eventual release.
Come enjoy this theme guys..
Hi guys if you wanna see the Demo you can see it here http://tokokoo.com/getshopped

A link to a demo of this theme would be better than having in-context links to this very same blog entry, guys.
Sorry, you’re absolutely right, like I said, I’m out of sorts because I’m travelling, and I’m incredibly tired. The mind is willing, but the body is weak (pop quiz).

More of this sorta thing would be great. I have found theme development one of the most challenging things when it comes to getting wp-ecommerce working properly.
I personally don’t find it hard, but I think because there are bits to style that arent usually there with WordPress then you need to learn that… we had to go through that with the new bbPress Plugin for instance
Thanks for this beautiful theme.
Good job @getshopped and @tokokoo
Hi I tried to install this theme but i keep getting the following error ”

I’m trying the theme for a project and it works great but I can’t make it work in IE8. Is this version not supported? Anyone is having the same trouble?
IE?
yes, same problem here… it closes the tab and says something about a loop on the page.. unfortunately half the world uses IE so its a problem.. . are the paid-for themes the same??
I’m not sure, each theme is built separately and have there own merits. I’ll let the guys know about your bug report though

Thanks a lot !!!!
Odd, widgets aren’t working out-of-the-box. Hopefully this will change after some minor tinkering…
This theme has doesn’t work with Internet Explorer 7 or 8. The issue is because the BuySell theme is an HTML5 template. IE 7 and 8 doesn’t recognise the HTML 5 tags.
I found the problem to the crashing of IE 7 or 8. The problem lies in the boilerplate framework. Boilerplate uses respond.js which will not work with @import in the css file on IE.
Here’s what to do:
1. Remove the @import from buysell/style.css
2. Copy all the css from buysell/css/style.css and copy it into buysell/style.css.
3. Find all image urls that has “../images and replace it with “/images/”
Hope that helps!
This sultion works! Thanks a lot Landman!
no styles.css in zip…. when trying to install the theme
Nice theme! Thanks!
So, is the theme called BuySell or BuyNow? It’s the small details like this that can make or break the reputation of a product.
Hi Lucas, thanks for pointing that out- typos count!
The ability to try before you buy is what todays website developers need. Great concept, I hope to put it to work right away.
Guys, you have a sort and display dropdown menu on your demo products page, but it’s not included with the theme – am I missing something?
Hi Ed,
Michelle here from WPEC – It sounds like the option your talking about relates to the product search that is included in the Gold Cart.
Thanks
Michelle
